December 2015

Phil and I were lucky enough to attend a concert by one of my favorite violinists, Gil Shaham, where he performed Bach's Unaccompanied Sonatas and Partitas.  It was an added bonus to get to meet and talk with the man in person at a reception following the concert.

For our 16th anniversary, Phil and I drove up to Vail for a ski weekend.  Grandma June and Grandpa Fred were so kind to stay with Sasha and Jack.  We enjoyed shopping, eating out, and one long day of skiing.  I was blown away by how huge the mountain was there.

Our favorite meal that weekend at Mountain Standard.

Sasha and Jack get along with each other marvelously these days.  It's not just that they don't squabble much, but they genuinely love to hang out and play together.

Both kids are book worms

We had several good snow storms this month with a couple of snow days even.

On our actual anniversary we got all dressed up in our wedding clothes.  Sasha, the flower girl, and Jack, the ring bearer, helped us reenact the vows.  We had a reception of chocolate fondue following the ceremony.

Christmas morning did not disappoint

Merry Christmas!

We had fun playing games like One Hundred and Apples to Apples with extended family.

Later that week, we had another family dinner up at our house and enjoyed a rousing game of Trivial Pursuit Family Version.  The kids won!

For New Years we traveled to Goshen and had a chance to visit with my Grandma Gingerich.  She was as kind and gracious as ever and the kids were on their best behavior thankfully.
