January

This new year marked the first for many things for Sasha one of which was ice skating. They had a free day at the local hockey rink so we thought why not, right? She had a great attitude about it and gave it a really good effort.

This is Sasha helping me in the kitchen. She drags a chair or a stool around to wherever the action is and asks what she can do to make herself useful. One of her favorite things to do right now is wash dishes by hand. It's such a trip down memory lane for me as I remember begging to do the same thing as a little girl. Phil to this day makes fun of me for being such a goody two shoes that a treat for me was washing dishes!
My dear little ones...Sasha really is such a loving, good big sister and Jack adores her.

Sasha is 3!

Technically by now Sasha is actually 3 years and 1 1/2 months due to my tardiness at getting these photos posted. I made the executive decision to just have a small family birthday party this year and a small birthday playdate with 2 of her little friends during the week. Sasha loves to help me in the kitchen preparing food and it was no different when it came to making her birthday cake. Her favorite part is cracking eggs and taste testing batter.
Grandma June and Grandpa Fred came up for the meal which Sasha requested: meatballs, mac and cheese, and jello.
Jack was a pretty mellow guest as usual. He continues to be such an easy-going smiley guy. Now if only he would sleep more that 2-3 hours a stretch at night (but that's a whole different blog post...)

Here is Sasha with her cake which she decorated generously with M & Ms. Sasha is quite a girl these days--so energetic with good ideas of what to do all day long. She loves putting jigsaw floor puzzles together, playing Zingo and Uno, "playing rough" with daddy, going hottubbing before bed, listening to stories about Phil and my childhood(especially ones that involve injury or have a moral), reading books, swinging, gymnastics, eating chocolate, being chased, and last but not least playing with her little brother. We love you so much, Sasha, and look forward to another year with you!

Yoder Family Christmas

We spent a relaxing afternoon honoring Chirstmas with my family up at our house on New Years Day. The adults had a book exchange and Sasha and Jack scored even more fun toys and games to get us through the rest of the cold winter. We enjoyed a yummy pulled pork dinner and watched a movie after the kids were in bed. It was great hanging out together without much of a schedule.
